Mr. & Mrs. Horning- a May wedding day

May 6, 2023, dawned a beautiful day and with the sun, all our worries of rain washed away. Kendra had lined up the most beautiful location for their bride and groom portraits. But really, all day, it felt like there were pockets of the most glorious sunshine; everywhere I looked.

The ceremony was held in an old, local church with creaky floors and well-aged wooden benches. Surrounded by their friends and family, Jacob and Kendra were united in marriage. And with many hugs and well wishes, their guests congratulated them.

Before the reception, I swept them away towards a big tree in the church yard to soak in the newlywed feelings. There, with the sun filtering through the branches, is where some of my most favorite images from their day were taken. The joy of two in love is something beautiful.

Kendra’s parents hosted the reception in their front yard under a big tent. Bless them for all the many weeks of preparation that took. The evening was finished off with delicious ice cream sundaes and kisses under sky lanterns.

Ahh, I adore May weddings.

Jake & Kendra, may your marriage be full of much joy and many beautiful years!

Much love, Kaylyn
